PPL - Private Pilots License
Normal timeframe full time is approx 3 months
In order to fly light aircraft it is necessary to obtain a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL). You need to be a minimum of 16 years old to fly solo and 17 to pass the Flight Test but we have students that are only 14 and enjoying the pleasures of the open sky. You will follow a series of Ground School Lectures, flight briefings, Actual Flight Training and passing Exams set by the School and by the SACAA. Once completed you will attain your Private Pilot License (PPL).
A PPL requires a minimum of 45 flight training hours and allows the licence holder to fly in almost any country in the world after a validation. Whether you choose to study FULL Time or Part Time for your PPL we can accommodate you. Our training starts when you are ready to start learning to Fly and finishes when you have passed your test. There are no restrictions to the time scale but the more often you fly, the faster you will complete your license. The only time we wait is if the weather isn’t on our side but that’s not normally a big issue here in Johannesburg.
It is possible to add the following to this license:
· Night Rating
· Multi-engine Rating
· Instrument Rating
· Various type conversions
· Foreign licence validations
· All licence renewals
